Plains Camp

Kruger National Park – Skukuza Concession, South Africa

About Plains Camp

Plains Camp is located within the Rhino Post concession of the Kruger National Park, offering an immersive, walking-only safari experience. The camp consists of comfortable, Meru-style tents that evoke the spirit of early African exploration. Without the noise and limitations of a vehicle, guests are encouraged to engage deeply with the bush, guided by expert rangers who focus on tracking, flora, and the rhythms of the ecosystem. The camp is small, private, and deeply focused on a quiet, nature-first experience. It serves as a base for exploring the diverse landscapes of the concession on foot, providing a unique vantage point of the southern Kruger that is usually hidden from tourists on the main roads. It is ideal for the adventurous, contemplative guest.

Why we like it

It is arguably the best walking camp in the Kruger. We love the back-to-basics approach that forces you to engage with the finer details of the bush.
