Lebala
About Lebala
Lebala, which translates to 'wide open spaces' in Setswana, is an intimate safari retreat located in the southern reaches of the 232,000-hectare Kwando Private Concession. The camp is masterfully positioned on the edge of the Linyanti Marshes, where vast floodplains meet wooded savannahs, creating a diverse ecosystem that attracts a staggering array of wildlife. The architecture emphasizes an authentic connection to nature, with nine spacious tented suites elevated on Zimbabwean teak decks, each featuring floor-to-ceiling mesh walls that allow the sights and sounds of the Botswana wilderness to permeate every corner of the room. The camp’s unfenced design ensures that the safari experience never truly ends, as elephants and antelope frequently wander through the grounds. Guests can retreat to the raised viewing deck for panoramic vistas of the wetlands or gather around the central firepit, the heart of the camp’s social life. With a dedicated focus on tracking and high-action predator sightings, Lebala offers a raw and immersive wilderness experience that balances understated luxury with the thrill of the untamed African bush.
Why we like it
We love Lebala for its 'wide open spaces' and the exceptional dual guide-and-tracker system that consistently delivers some of Africa's best predator tracking experiences.
