Jacks Private Camp is located on a private concession within the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park in Botswana. The camp consists of ten canvas tents built on raised wooden decks, each featuring en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, and private verandas overlooking the salt pans. The architecture utilizes 1940s-style safari aesthetics with mahogany furniture and brass fittings. The local environment is defined by expansive grasslands and ancient baobab trees. Wildlife in this region includes brown hyena, meerkats, and herds of zebra that migrate through the area seasonally. Guests participate in guided bush walks led by San trackers, quad bike expeditions across the dry salt pans, and interactive encounters with habituated meerkat colonies. Evening activities focus on stargazing and night drives to observe nocturnal species. Meals are served in a central mess tent that displays a collection of historical artifacts and natural history specimens found on the concession. The camp operates on a small-scale model to maintain exclusivity and minimal environmental impact. Access to the camp is provided via light aircraft flights from Maun to a private airstrip, followed by a short vehicle transfer.
