Locations We'll Explore
Your Accommodation
Classic Dome Tents
Traditional 3x3m dome tents with stretcher-style beds, premium memory-foam mattresses and private ensuite bathrooms with hot bucket showers and flushing toilets. The camp moves with you from the silence of the salt-pans to the waterways of the Delta — set up in prime private campsites by a chef and camp crew trained in Botswana's top lodges. Sleeping first among the vast emptiness of the pans and later beside the Delta's channels is one of the journey's great pleasures, and evenings end around the campfire under some of Africa's darkest skies.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival — Nxai Pan National Park
Drive east from Maun to Nxai Pan National Park, a fossil lakebed edged by acacia and mopane. Your dome camp is set up on the pan's fringe; an evening drive seeks springbok, gemsbok and the park's famous cheetah, with the cold clarity of the desert dusk settling over the plain and the first stars appearing in a sky untouched by light pollution.
Days 2-3
Nxai Pan & Makgadikgadi Pans
Two days exploring the stark beauty of the desert pans. Visit Baines' Baobabs — seven ancient trees painted by Thomas Baines in 1862, still standing on their island of rock — and the vast saltpans beyond. Track desert-adapted species: bat-eared fox, brown hyena, ostrich and kori bustard. In the wet season (Nov-Apr) witness the zebra and wildebeest migration, Africa's second-largest land migration; in the dry months, meet habituated meerkats at the pans' edge and stand on a featureless white horizon that plays tricks on the eye.
Days 4-5
Okavango Delta
A dramatic transition from dust to water. Two days among the Delta's floodplains and channels — elephant, buffalo, hippo and red lechwe are constant, with a real chance of lion and wild dog. A mokoro trip glides you through the reedbeds past frog-eating herons and brightly coloured bee-eaters; the contrast with the desert days before is unforgettable and the birdlife shifts entirely, from bustards and goshawks to fish eagles and kingfishers.
Day 6
Moremi Game Reserve
A full day in the southern Moremi, combining morning and evening drives to maximise sightings in this wildlife-rich area. Permanent water draws prolific game year-round — elephant herds, buffalo, leopard in the riverine forest and the constant call of fish eagles — a fitting finale to the desert-and-delta contrast.
Day 7
Departure
A dawn drive and breakfast, then the drive back to Maun having experienced both the desert and the delta in a single, contrasting journey — few short safaris offer such variety.
