Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival — Moremi, Third Bridge
Drive from Maun to Third Bridge in Moremi, a scenic area on the permanent waters of the Okavango. Your dome camp is set up among the leadwoods; a first evening drive runs along the water's edge where hippos grunt, crocodiles bask and elephant herds come down to drink against a sunset over the reedbeds.
Days 2-3
Moremi Game Reserve - Third Bridge
Two full days around Third Bridge, where the permanent water attracts exceptional wildlife year-round. Watch hippos and crocodiles in the channels, herds coming to drink, and predator activity that is consistently excellent — lion, leopard and, in season, African wild dog. The riverine birdlife is outstanding, from fish eagles and hamerkops to malachite kingfishers; a sunset by the water, drink in hand, is a daily ritual.
Days 4-6
Moremi Game Reserve
The camp shifts to a second Moremi location for three days of contrasting habitat — open plains, acacia woodland and floodplain. Large elephant herds, buffalo, giraffe and the open areas provide excellent predator viewing, with cheetah a real possibility on the plains. A sunset boat cruise to Dead Tree Island is a highlight, and the chance to see two distinct faces of Moremi in a single short safari is what makes this itinerary special.
Day 7
Departure
A dawn drive and breakfast, then the drive back to Maun having experienced two very different faces of the Moremi Game Reserve.
