Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival — Moremi Game Reserve
Drive from Maun into the Moremi Game Reserve. Your dome camp is set up in a private spot among the leadwoods; after lunch and a briefing with Pilot, a first evening drive introduces you to this pristine wilderness as the floodplains turn gold and the first elephant herds drift in to drink against a sunset over the reedbeds.
Days 2-3
Moremi Game Reserve
Two full days in southern Moremi. Morning and evening drives reveal large elephant herds, lion prides on the open plains, leopard in the riverine forest and plains game — zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and red lechwe — across a mosaic of floodplain, woodland and lagoon. Birdlife is exceptional, from African fish eagles and saddle-billed storks to the brilliantly coloured lilac-breasted roller; midday is your own for lunch, a siesta and a hot bucket shower before the afternoon drive.
Days 4-6
Khwai Private Concession
Three full days in Khwai, where the permanent waters of the Okavango meet dry mopane and acacia woodland. This ecotone is incredibly rich — search for wild dog, tree-climbing leopard and the famous Khwai lion prides. A mokoro trip threads the quiet channels past hippos and reedbed birds, and night drives (a concession privilege) reveal bushbabies, serval and owls. The camp's mobility — no fences, no other vehicles, the sounds of the bush all around — is the heart of the experience.
Day 7
Departure
A final morning drive and breakfast, then the drive back to Maun carrying the silence and scale of an authentic Okavango experience.
