Ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango Delta, Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is located on an exclusive 25,000-hectare (61,775-acre) wildlife concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve.
The camp is known for its elegant tented accommodation, which boasts breathtaking views of both mature mopane woodlands and seasonally flooded grasslands. You have the priceless opportunity to discover the myriad wildlife wonders of this diverse land-water Okavango location.
Sandibe Safari lodge
A maze of meandering water channels, papyrus-fringed banks and floating islands teeming with wildlife: known as the river that never finds the sea, Botswana’s Okavango Delta is the jewel of the Kalahari.
In the heart of the Delta, on the edge of a waterway, you’ll find Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge. Situated on a diverse, wildlife-rich, private concession, Sandibe has exclusive traversing rights over a vast 22,500 hectares (55,600 acres) of wildlife land bordering the Moremi Game Reserve.
Xarrana Lodge
Xaranna nestles deep in the heart of Botswana’s game-rich Okavango Delta. With sweeping views opening up onto a seasonal lagoon, this light and airy camp enjoys luxurious solitude on its own Delta Island, within an exclusive 90,500-hectare (223,630-acre) wildlife concession.
Xaranna is a delightful camp, with just nine ensuite safari tents that luxuriously combine canvas, soft drapes and bleached timber. You’ll love the romantic outdoor sala, private plunge pool, indoor bathtub and al fresco shower. The overall atmosphere of the camp is cool, light and airy, in keeping with the gentle beauty of its environment.
Itinerary
Days 1 to 4: Okavango Private Concession
Nxabega Safari Lodge
You will be met at Maun Airport and your charter flight to Nxabega will take around 40mins which takes you over the southern floodplains of the Okavango with those views you always see in documentaries. Once you arrive in camp they will show you around and once you're settled in you can take part in an afternoon activity. The area is famous for its shallow floodplains and you have a great chance to see Giraffe and other wildlife moving through these vast areas.
Predators here include Lions, Leopard, African Wild Dog and Spotted Hyena with other cats being in the area but difficult to see, as they always are. Activities include mokoro, walking safaris and day and night game drives.
Days 4 to 7: Okavango Private Concession
Sandibe Safari lodge
After a morning activity you will fly to Sandibe taking around 20 mins with stunning views of the Okavango and Chief's Island. The Sandibe Concession (or locally known as NG32) is truly superb with some of the best wildlife in Africa with both land and water activities available. This area is known for its Predator population and your ability to get close to them, in particular African Wild Dog but Cheetah too are often seen with Lion and Leopard too. The walking safaris in this area are particularly good with lots of open areas.
Days 7 to 10: Okavango Private Concession
Xarrana Lodge
After a morning activity you will fly to Xarrana taking around 20 mins with stunning views of Chief's Island. This area contrasts nicely with more permanent waters in the concession giving you the chance to see those species that rely on this including the Sitatunga Antelope, a rare and elusive water-borne species.
This camp provides an experience based around the annual flood and the waters it leaves behind. Activities are not only water-based but also game drives are available.
