Angama Mara
About Angama Mara
Angama Mara occupies a position on the edge of the Oloololo Escarpment overlooking the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The lodge consists of two camps, each featuring fifteen tented suites with glass fronts that extend across the length of the dwelling. Each suite provides views of the valley floor 1,000 feet below. The architecture utilizes canvas, timber, and polished concrete to integrate with the cliffside environment. Daily activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open-sided vehicles to track lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. Guided walking safaris on the escarpment and hot air balloon flights are available by arrangement. Dining options range from field breakfasts in the bush to formal service in the guest area, which includes a library and a studio for local craftspeople. Access to the lodge is provided by a private airfield located a ten-minute drive from the main guest facilities. The property focuses on direct proximity to the Mara Triangle, allowing for frequent sightings of wildlife migration patterns throughout the year.
