Wilderness Sabyinyo (Cottage/Family Cottage)
About Wilderness Sabyinyo (Cottage/Family Cottage)
Wilderness Sabyinyo is located on the edge of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, providing direct access to the Virunga Mountains. The property consists of stone-walled cottages and a larger family cottage, each featuring fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas that look out toward the volcanic peaks of Sabyinyo, Gahinga, and Muhabura. The design uses local volcanic rock and wood to reflect the geography of the northern province. Guests stay here to participate in mountain gorilla tracking expeditions, as the main park entrance is a short drive away. Beyond gorillas, guided hikes focus on finding golden monkeys or climbing the nearby volcanic summits. The lodge grounds serve as a transition zone between local agricultural land and the forest, attracting birds and smaller mammals. Meals are served in a central main building with a lounge and bar area designed for evening fire-side gatherings. The staff coordinates all park permits and logistics for daily excursions into the volcanic chain. This property provides a functional base for travelers focused on active mountain exploration and primate observation within the Rwandan landscape.
